Organization’s History

Since 2008, Phoenix Pass, Inc. has been an independent nonprofit, 501©3. This community-based partnership began with the co-efforts of Rockdale Emergency Relief Fund and the First Baptist Church of Conyers. The first apartment building consisting of eight apartments, housing seven women with children, with one apartment occupied by a Rockdale County Sheriff’s Deputy, and the Administration Building with computer lab, meeting room, and laundry room were completed in 2010. In 2016, the second apartment building with eight apartments was completed along with additions to the Administration Building of an additional laundry room, office, storage, and
enlargement of the computer lab/meeting room. With a total of 16 apartments, Phoenix Pass is now able to serve 15 women with children and a Rockdale County Sheriff’s Deputy.
From the opening of Phoenix Pass in 2010, 52 women and 125 children have been served. We have a 76% success rate of those who completed the program. To date, 100% of the women who have graduated or completed the program remain in stable housing.
Once a family graduates, leaves Phoenix Pass voluntarily or by dismissal, they are still served through our 24-month
After-Care Program. This program encompasses contact with these women every three months or when requested, and they may continue to attend the enrichment classes free of charge. Thanksgiving and Christmas meals are provided, if needed, physical and mental health referrals continue, and if we have any donations that our campus residents do not need or want, they are available to our After-Care participants.
