Partners

Phoenix Pass, Inc. is a part of an integrated network of interdependent projects with empowered leadership, following the design of a holistic approach to provide solutions, not just facilities. Phoenix Pass, Inc. will be located on the campus of Light House Village, Inc. in Conyers, Rockdale County.

Light House Village, Inc.

Light House Village, Inc. is a not-for-profit collaborative service model that has been established as the campus for three not-for-profit organizations in the Conyers-Rockdale County community. The Light House Village, Inc. campus will maximize resources and opportunities to better serve constituents who are in need of specialized care and/or services that have been scarce in and/or absent from the Conyers-Rockdale county community, including the temporary housing and supportive services that will be the cornerstone program for Phoenix Pass, Inc. Thus, Phoenix Pass, Inc. is a direct application that promotes “system change across the basic services/emergency assistance system that makes the system as a whole work efficiently and effectively” (United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta, Interim Housing Guidance, Impact Area Indicators).

Rockdale Emergency Relief

RER will provide case management and lead team service support through the Housing Retention and Financial Assistance Program, commodity assistance from the Rockdale Community Food Bank for program participants, and referrals and vouchers for other community-based service providers and supportive assistance resources.

First Baptist Church of Conyers

A community-based, life skills coaching and mentoring program directed by First Baptist Church of Conyers will be established to provide a formal life skills coaching and mentoring program as a subsidiary of the transitional housing program for program participants. The life skills coaching and mentoring program director will complete coaching facilitator training, and the program will provide the requisite screening, selection, and training for volunteer mentors that will provide 2,340 volunteer hours as mentors and life skills coaches for program participants.

A community-based apartment adoption program will be established that will allow for both faith-based and secular organizations to furnish and maintain the apartments on the Phoenix Pass, Inc. campus.

Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office

Phoenix Pass, Inc. will provide on-site residential accommodations for a sworn law enforcement officer on active employment with the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office and his or her spouse. As a resident on the Phoenix Pass, Inc. campus the law enforcement officer will provide 728 work hours of on-site residential security for the Phoenix Pass, Inc. campus annually.

Habitat for Humanity

The HICOR Habitat Community, the Habitat for Humanity program in Rockdale County, will participate in the selection of program applicants and periodic assessment of Program Partners’ progress in the transitional housing program. Program Partners will graduate from the program with the requisite credentials for successful application, consideration, and selection for the Habitat for Humanity program in Rockdale County.

United Way

A Workforce Partnership is being developed as a collaborative/partnership project in the Conyers-Rockdale County community. The project is being endorsed by the United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta and United Way-Rockdale and has the following Goals:

To help prepare individuals for jobs that offer livable wages and upward mobility;
To improve access to career preparation and development services, particularly for populations that have been under-represented in the targeted careers;
To promote greater coherence and coordination in programs and policies addressing education and workforce development needs; and
To close the gap between the supply and demand for skilled workers in industry sectors critical to the economic success of the Metropolitan Atlanta-area.
